Who We Are

We're CCLA—the College Center for Library Automation—a proud, dynamic, team-based group of library and technology professionals dedicated to enhancing the library and learning experience of Florida's college students, staff and faculties. Our library information portal and automated library management tools are used by all 28 colleges in Florida: 82 college campus libraries in 66 cities throughout the state.

Established by the Florida Legislature in 1989, we now have more than two decades of proven service to the State of Florida. We stand proud of our many accomplishments and our role in helping educate tomorrow's leaders.

We're located in Florida's capital city, Tallahassee, but our products and services are used by more than one million college students and staff throughout the state. Our core product is "LINCC," the Library Information Network for Cooperative Content. LINCC has two key components:

• A content-rich web portal, LINCCWeb, that college students rely on to locate information and perform research. LINCCWeb features a statewide collection of eResources (eBooks, full-text journals, articles and databases), and a shared catalog of library materials that enables students to search for materials in their own college's library, or at any other college library in Florida. LINCCWeb operates on Primo, MetaLib, and SFX software from vendor Ex Libris.
• A sophisticated library management system (LMS) that college librarians use behind the scenes to check in and out (circulate) books and other physical materials in their library's collection, and to catalog and manage those materials. Driving the LMS is a single "shared" catalog containing data about all of the books and other materials owned by all 28 colleges. The LINCC LMS operates on Ex Libris' Aleph software.

Supporting our products and services is a fully staffed service desk, free instructor-led and web-based training for library staff, and a full-time team of library services consultants—each an expert in a particular area of library or network management. Together, this support network ensures that college libraries have the necessary knowledge and skills to deliver LINCC services to their students.
