CCLA's former Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Richard Madaus, will receive the Honorary Life Membership Award from the Association of Florida Colleges (AFC) at the association's upcoming annual conference. Dr. Madaus has been selected to receive this honor in recognition of his significant, long-term contributions to AFC and to the Florida College System. He served as CCLA's Chief Executive Officer from its creation by the Florida Legislature in 1989 through June 2011.
Recognizing AFC as a vital link between CCLA and the colleges it serves, Dr. Madaus led the effort to establish an AFC chapter at CCLA over four years ago. Since then, the chapter has grown significantly in its membership and activities.
AFC's annual conference will be held October 26-28 in Naples. CCLA Library Services Consultants and AFC chapter members will be in attendance to staff a booth with information about LINCCWeb and its resources, as well as to accept the award on behalf of Dr. Madaus.
