Frequently Asked Questions:

What types of positions does CCLA offer?
The College Center for Library Automation strives to attract high-caliber individuals with experience in library and information studies, information technologies, and administrative support. CCLA is a collaborative organization that utilizes workgroups and teams to develop, provide, and maintain the Library Information Network for Community Colleges (LINCC) and LINCCWeb for Florida's 70+ community college libraries.

What are the major steps in CCLA's hiring process?
CCLA contracts with TCC for certain administrative support functions, including Human Resources. Individuals applying for a position at CCLA must first complete and submit a TCC Application for Employment.

By the end of the week following the position's closing date, CCLA receives all applications from TCC. A committee (typically comprised of the position's supervisor and other CCLA staff) begin the application screening process. After all applications are screened, candidates are selected for a first interview and are contacted.

Selected candidates are then scheduled for a second interview, which last anywhere from one-half to two days and include interviews with members of CCLA's upper management, as well as one or more group interviews with CCLA functional and cross-functional workgroups. This unique in-depth exposure not only allows CCLA to better evaluate the candidate, but also provides the candidate an opportunity to "interview" CCLA.

Following the second interview, staff input is collected and a hiring decision is made. Depending upon availability and scheduling of the candidate and key CCLA staff, the length of time from an ad's closing date until an offer of employment is made is approximately six weeks.

The TCC application includes an EEO Questionnaire. Must I complete that questionnaire?
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission created the EEO form as a means of collecting demographic information. As declared by Federal law, completion of the questionnaire is optional.

How can I confirm that my application was received by CCLA?
TCC collects all applications submitted and forwards them to CCLA. To inquire about the status of your application, contact Amy Graham in CCLA's Organizational Resources Department at (850) 922-6044.

How can I find out more about employee benefits?
All questions regarding benefits should be addressed to TCC's Human Resources Department at (850) 201-8510.

Who should I contact if I have additional questions?
For more information on career opportunities at CCLA, contact Amy Graham in CCLA's Organizational Resources Department at (850) 922-6044.
