What happens after I submit my application to Tallahassee Community College (TCC)?
- First interview - Following the application deadline, we receive all completed applications from TCC. A committee—normally the position's supervisor and several other key CCLA staff—screens each application to select which candidates to interview. First interviews normally last about one hour, during which the committee asks each candidate identical, scripted questions. This provides an equitable format for all candidates.
- Second interview - The second interview is where we really get to learn more about you. Unlike the first interview, our second interviews are not scripted. You'll have an opportunity to meet many of our staff and senior managers during individual, group, and team interviews. This is also a time when you'll be interviewing us. We want you to get a solid feel for our organization, what we do, and how you and your position fit into our team. Our second interviews are normally half- or full-day sessions, depending upon the position. Interviews for senior management positions are multi-day.
- Selection - After all second interviews have been completed, we turn to our staff for their input into the hiring decision.
The position's supervisor collects that input and makes the hiring decision.
How long does it take from application to selection?
It really depends on the position, how many candidates we interview, the availability of each candidate, and which of our staff are participating in the hiring process. Normally, the entire hiring process takes about six weeks. We update our Current Vacancies web page at each stage in the process so candidates can stay informed of our progress.
There is an EEO Questionnaire included with my TCC application. Am I required to complete that questionnaire?
No, the EEO questionnaire is optional according to federal law. It was created by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission as a tool for collecting demographic information.
How can I confirm that TCC and CCLA received my application?
E-mail or call our Human Resources department at 850-922-6044 to confirm receipt of your application.
Where can I learn more about TCC and CCLA employee benefits?
TCC's Human Resources Department can answer your questions about employee benefits. Their telephone number is 850-201-8510.
Who should I contact if I have additional questions?
