Aleph Version 18: What's New for LINCC?
Following is a brief list of new or enhanced functionality now available to LINCC libraries with Aleph version 18. View detailed list.

ACQUISITIONS/SERIALS
- New Print button will print an entire invoice
- Ability to transfer orders from one budget to another
- Number of units on the order record will no longer overwrite existing number
- Send method for Claims and Cancellations improved when using electronic data interchange (EDI)
CATALOGING/ITEMS
- Ability to select multiple items for deletion
- Global changes for items now available for material type, arrival date, order number, and subscription number
- Circulation log available in Items tab
CIRCULATION
- Lost item replacement charges are now waived instead of credited
- Renewal of selected loans using a new Renew Marked button
- Renewal letter available in Global Patron Information
- Automatic removal of item processing statuses
- Library calendar moved to Circulation module
- Sounds added to some circulation functions
- New Items In Transit report available
- New staff privileges reports available
INTERLIBRARY LOAN (ILL)
- ILL has been incorporated into the client, providing for easier navigation and integration with circulation and cataloging modules. Specific functionality was covered during regional instructor-led training in November 2007. Learn more about the new LINCC ILL module.
LINCC CATALOG (OPAC)
- The look and feel are have not changed significantly between the Aleph v.17-based catalog and that of Aleph v.18. However, the navigation and menu options have been enhanced to accommodate new options and to bring it more in line with other LINCCWeb resources.
- Course Reserves has been significantly enhanced, including options to limit searches by campus and to search by bar code.
- Users can now filter the holdings by library from the holdings screen. Also, a new check box has been added that allows users to show only available items.
- The "Request" feature has been improved. Users can now make multiple requests without having to log in each time. Also, once logged in, users are logged in for all restricted activities (such as MyAccount).
- Refinement options have been added to the results screen that allow users to create subsets, rank results, modify results, or start over with a new search.
- Also enhanced are the catalog's e-mailing options. Persistent linking options are now available, allowing users to copy and e-mail a link that will take them directly into the record.
- New options for sharing records are now available from the full record screen. New options enable users to share records in Facebook, del.icio.us, Digg.com, and other sites.
