| Q: | | What does the new LINCC ILL module allow me to do? |
| A: | | The ILL module enables statewide borrowing and lending of materials between LINCC libraries. At this time, the module is configured to allow such sharing of resources to occur only between LINCC libraries. CCLA will soon begin working with its advisory process to enhance the module to provide for resource sharing beyond LINCC libraries. Because the module is fully ISO-compliant, it will be configured to interact with other ISO-compatible catalogs and ILL systems. To learn more about the new module's capabilities, download the LINCC ILL Manual |
| Q: | | How do I access the LINCC ILL module? |
| A: | | The new LINCC ILL module is entirely web-based so there's no new software to install. All you need is a web browser with an Internet connection. You can access the module from your library's "LMS Services" menu at http://xxx.lincc.net (where "xxx" is your college's unique three letter code). You'll also need your college's unique interlibrary loan username and password which is available from your local Resource Sharing contact or by contacting the CCLA Service Desk. |
| Q: | | How can I find out which colleges correspond to the codes in the LINCC ILL module? |
| A: | | Follow this link for a list of LINCC libraries and their respective ILL codes. |
| Q: | | Can I practice performing ILL activities without actually lending or borrowing real materials? |
| A: | | Yes. CCLA has created a practice site where library staff can go to brush up on the skills learned during ILL training. If you didn't attend training or are new to LINCC ILL, the practice site will offer you a first-hand look at this exciting new tool that your ILL staff will be using. Access to the practice area requires a unique ILL password, which you can get by contacting the CCLA Service Desk. |
| Q: | | I know initial ILL training has already ended, but will future ILL training opportunities be offered? |
| A: | | If you or others at your library need new or additional training on the LINCC ILL module, see your college's Administrative Contact who can arrange that training with CCLA. CCLA works with all LINCC libraries to regularly assess local staff training needs on all LINCC modules to ensure local staff have the skills necessary to deliver LINCC services to their patrons. |
